Today’s foot is the “A” foot. This will be the standard foot that comes on all Janome machines and all machines in general. This foot can do almost every stitch on the machine without having to worry about breaking the foot or the needle.

Uses: Typically this foot is used to straight stitch and zig-zag. You would not want to use this foot for decorative stitching because it can cause the stitch not to form properly. This is due to the foot being metal which creates more friction between the fabric and the foot. This causes problems by not allowing the machine to move the fabric forwards and backwards as easy.
