2018 – 2021 Outstanding Achievement Award

History of the Store

In 1978, the founder of The Sewing Machine Shop wanted to purchase a new sewing machine. Throughout her search, she received such poor customer service that she was prompted with the idea that a “customers shouldn’t receive poor service in a small town.” She knew she could do better. Thus, The Sewing Machine Shop was born into a renovated single car garage. Over the years as product lines changed and customer needs began to grow, the renovated single car garage was soon added on to. This addition nearly doubled the size of the building and added more room for the service, parts and office space.

On September 15, 2004 Darryl and Brenda became the new owners of The Sewing Machine Shop.  With new ownership, came a restored youth and new energy to the shop.  In order to keep up appearances, the showroom saw a remodeling with new displays, brighter energy saving lights, a remodeled entry, paint, and floor covering.  As time goes on, we only grow more passionate about our mission statement which reads:

“Greet each person with a smile and respect – Treat every person as a potentially new customer – Customer satisfaction is priority – Supplier quality is our responsibility – Embrace new technology.”

  1. Why don’t you show your address on this site? I live in Milwaukee and I’m looking for a Janome dealer close to me but this site does not show where you are located why is that?
